SYNOPSIS:

A young man’s monotonous, isolated life is upended when he mistakenly receives his neighbor’s mail. Although he is resistant to interfere, he becomes increasingly drawn into their tumultuous relationship.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS:

Paul – Lead; male; 20-30;

A directionless millennial with a white-collar job; has fallen into the post-college rut of working long hours, leaving little to no time for life. Generally introverted, he can also be funny and personable.

Amber – Support; female; 20 – 35;

Pretty, petite blonde in her late 20’s who was a party girl in college. Although she has a job in HR, she’s mostly biding her time until she can get married, have kids, and leave the workforce.

Ryan – Support; male; 25 – 35;

Alpha-male, former college athlete who has never struggled in life. Well off, successful trader. Getting to the age where he realizes he is expected to settle down, despite not being sure he truly wants that.

COMPENSATION: Lead role will receive $200 upon completion. Supporting roles will each receive $100.
OTHER COMPENSATION: Meals and refreshments will be provided on days of shoot. Drinks and snacks at rehearsal.

This short is being shot as part of a competition sponsored by The Producers Guild of America and Cadillac where applicants are responsible for shooting, editing and submitting a 3-5 minute short film between Saturday, June 28th – Sunday, June 29th. The top 10 finalists will compete for a chance to produce a :30 second Cadillac TV spot that will air on film makings greatest night… the 2015 Academy Awards on ABC.

This short will also be in part of a kickstarter campaign to expand this documentary into a feature length film to be distributed among the festival circuit.
