PROJECT TITLE: True Vice

PRODUCER: Walter Henry Storricks
WRITER: Ellis Minatee
DIRECTOR: Ellis Minatee
PRODUCTION COMPANY: Everitt Productions
SHOOTING SCHEDULE: Late November – Early February
SHOOTING LOCATION: South New Jersey

SYNOPSIS:

What do you get when you put the spawn of a mobster, a drug dealer, a pimp, and a dirty cop together?

Pulp Fiction meets The Sopranos.

Script Link: http://www.stage32.com/sites/stage32.com/files/assets/screenplay/23215/screenplay_23215.pdf

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS:

DOMENICK LOMBARDI
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Age: 23-26
Height: 5’11 – 6’3

Domenick is the son of moderately known mobster, Sal Lombardi. His relationship with his father is mostly about pleasing Sal and doing whatever his father wishes him to do. Sal’s constant strain upon him is the main driving force between Dom’s alcoholism and sexual compulsion.

Personality: Dom is a lost soul. He doesn’t have any aspirations or dreams outside of the fact that he wants to be free of his father’s control over his life. Because of Sal’s dominion over him, he was never allowed to develop his own interests other than women and liquor. His hedonism always goes into overdrive when he feels stressed or suffocated. Sometimes he can be overconfident, which doesn’t do anything but make him look stupid in the end.

QUENTIN REYNOLDS
Ethnicity: African American
Age: 23-26
Height: 5’11 – 6’3

Quentin is a drug dealer whose older brother, Jerome, is a cop. He lives with his brother but prefers to have as little contact as possible with him. He considers his best friend, Ray, more of a family member than his own brother.

Personality: Quentin is quiet and modest most of the time, but can be condescending smart ass when he comes across stupidity or when he feels his intelligence is being insulted. Unlike Domenick, he is a leader not a follower. He is the most intellectual and when push comes to shove can be manipulating.

RAYMOND MURAMOTO
Ethnicity: Asian American
Age: 23-26
Height: 5’11 – 6’3

Ray is a pimp. A trade he took after his grandmother, Anna, retired from being a madam. His grandmother was the only person in his life he actually cared about until he was nine and met his best friend, Quentin Reynolds. Like Quentin, he wants nothing whatsoever to do with his family outside of his grandmother. When it comes to his employees, he does his best to do right by them. When it comes to a romantic relationship with women, he has no trouble whatsoever getting into their pants but doesn’t have (nor wants to have) the emotional concentration to sustain a relationship outside of the simple physical aspects. He would rather have a woman just be his friend or friend with benefits and intensely resists any kind of attempts to change his philosophy of the subject.

Personality: He is intensely sarcastic and blunt with generally everybody he encounters. He mistrusts everybody around him except, Quentin, and Anna. He does not care at all what people think about him and usually says exactly what is on his mind. The two people he does care about he is intensely protective of and will go to extreme lengths to correct whatever has been done wrong to them. Underneath his tough, hard, and manipulating exterior, he is very sentimental and mostly driven by emotion.

ARIANNA LOMBARDI
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Age: 23-26
Height: 5’7 – 6’0

Arianna is Dom’s wife. She has little respect for her husband and just about as much respect for her marriage vows. Like Dom, she messes around as well and does not nor never cared if her husband does the same. She was forced into marrying Dom and liked him even less when she discovered that he was an alcoholic. She is the only person that can basically stand up to Sal.

Personality: Arianna is very cultured, she loves to read and listens to opera and classical music. She can be very selfish, blasé, and cold and makes it obvious that she is not gonna conform to the stereotypical wifely role that Sal wants her to be for his son.

VINCENT LOMBARDI
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Age: 47-54
Height: 5’9 – 6’2

Vincent is his Sal’s younger brother and wing man. Generally, he gets verbally and sometimes physically abused by his brother due to his somewhat innocent cluelessness. He looks up to his brother and does his best to try to please him, even though most of the time he messes it up.

Personality: Vincent is not book smart and oblivious, but enjoys cooking and baking and collecting recipes. Unlike his brother, he has other interests outside the realm of being a gangster.

BOYD O’CONNOR
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Age: 28-33
Height: 5’11 – 6’3

Boyd is a detective for the police department and is working partners with Quentin’s brother, Jerome. He comes from a military background, since his father and uncle were both involved in the Gulf War. He tried joining the military himself, but wasn’t able due to his less than perfect eyesight.

Personality: Boyd has no problem whatsoever saying things that are out of turn. When it comes to his goals he’ll destroy anybody that gets in his way, regardless of whom they are. He gets plenty of women but is still is a bit of misogynist, treating his conquests like trash. An amoral individual, he has no problem doing things that aren’t looked upon favorably just so long as it benefits himself.

JEROME REYNOLDS
Ethnicity: African American
Age: 28-33
Height: 5’11 – 6’3

Jerome is a detective for the police department is partners with Boyd O’Connor. Him and his younger brother, Quentin’s relationship is practically on the edge of nonexistent even though they live together. Jerome is selfish, has no problem blaming other people for his own mistakes, and when push comes to shove a raging coward. In his brother’s eyes, he is seen as being pitiful and worthless.

Personality: He enjoys being in a position of authority and abusing it to his own advantage. Though he does possess these qualities, he doesn’t have the brains to be able to successfully benefit from it. He thinks too highly of himself and refuses to deal with his own idiocy when confronted.

What’s happening here is Mama is (somewhere, to be determined) talking to the audience. The goal is to introduce the main players and to let us know how she thinks and her motivation behind the concept of the Big Picture. The ideal of looking beyond what’s right in front of you. She is a mother and very serious about that role, she owns a bookstore, she has a sense of humor, a little dry but funny, she is very nurturing to all. She is not a Madea but maybe her calm, smart, classy sister. Here is a link to her background and some strips. http://jerrycraft.net/mamasboyz.html

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS:

Tyrell
Tyrell is my oldest son, he’s 18 years old. Some would say he’s kind of shy. He is a senior in high school. I think he wants a girlfriend.

Yusef
Yusef is my 16 year old. I hate say it but he is more popular and more athletic and taller than his brother Tyrell. He loves sneakers and clothes. He’s pretty popular with the girls. It may seem he’s more independent than his older brother, but Tyrell is his best bud.

Grandpa
My father lives upstairs. He’s a retired chef. He likes to cook and listen to Jazz. I keep telling him he needs to change the way he cooks, like doing less frying and more baking. I’m working on it.

Uncle Gregg
Gregory Tisdale is my baby brother. The kids call him Uncle Greggo. He is 32 years old. He likes music, movies and video games as much as my sons, so of course he gets along well with Yusef and Tyrell. He owns a computer graphics and consulting company. I say he’s afraid of commitment and he’s cheap.

Keisha
Keisha helps me out in the bookstore, when she’s not in school. Keisha is the daughter that I never had. She is 18 years old like Tyrell. Keisha actually dated Tyrell for a very short time, but now they are just great friends. (Keisha strip coming soon)

Sara
Sara goes to school with Tyrell and Yusef. She’s a fashionista. She tells me she likes to take here moms old clothes and make them stylish, she calls it a retro look.. I believe she has a crush on Tyrell.

Sam
Sam goes to school with my sons. He loves baseball. He knows every stat about every team. He’s a walking database, well at least in the things he wants to be.

Have or ever had a job you loath? It’s another summer for a nameless manager of a swim club in upper middle class suburbia. The movie begins with this person getting called into work on their day off (Smith, “Clerks” ). Throughout the movie the manager notices people over look and not fully appreciate what they have. The manager meanders through life curiously upbeat minus the occasional rant reminiscent of a Holden Caulfield (Sallinger. “The Catcher and the Rye”). And despite being indifferent to many aspects of classic hollywood style productions the manager begins drafting a narrative to reach the public on such issues. The manager attempts to rid the work of authorship and profit as an “independent film” but quickly learns as to the difficulty of the task at hand.

Cast/Crew/Location Calls for Short Film “Flesh Computer” [Los Angeles] #casting #crewcall #locationcall

lesh_computer_sketch_4color

Posted April 27, 2013

PROJECT TITLE: Flesh Computer
CLASSIFICATION: Independent
STATUS: SAG
CATEGORY: Short Film
DIRECTOR: Ethan Shaftel
PRODUCTION COMPANY: easyAction
SHOOTING SCHEDULE: June 6-9 2013
SHOOTING LOCATION: Los Angeles

SYNOPSIS:

We are a team of industry professionals shooting a passion project: a visually stylized and intellectually mind-bending short film, set in a dark future populated by organic machines. Very high production value with award winning production-design team, cinematographer, and visual effects. Already partially cast with some amazing performers, we are seeking a few additional actors to bring the world to life! (Not a huge paycheck but a very high quality cinema piece for your portfolio, and a short shooting schedule)

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS:

SKINNY – MALE, 13-30 years old — Mean, like a mongrel dog is mean. Kicked down his whole life; fed scraps, if at all. Now Skinny is MAD. Looking to kick someone else down for a change. Looking for power, looking for a moment of control. Cruel by nature and stick thin; bad skin, bad teeth, bad hair, BAD EVERYTHING. If this sounds like you, then I’m scared! But if this sounds like a role you could play, then please apply!

CHUNKY – MALE, 13-30 years old — Chunky peers out at life through beady pig-eyes filled with mistrust and suppressed hurt. If he sees a cat get hit by a car, he laughs and snorts with glee, because that animal got what it deserved, what EVERYONE deserves. If a neighbor’s house burns down, Chunky is over the moon, gloating; his black heart joyful. Chunky stuffs his face, picks on the weak, and toadies to his tougher friend Skinny. If this sounds like you, then you are a disgusting human animal, but if this sounds like a role you could play, then PLEASE APPLY!

EMILY — FEMALE, 6-14 years old — Emily is curiosity itself, head craned back to watch the stars one minute, crawling in the dirt the next minute to see what the worms are doing. She’s a true innocent in a dangerous world, observing life she doesn’t understand. Our young actress must be comfortable in contacts, as she will be required to wear a standard colored contact in one eye for visual effects work (In the final film, Emily will appear to have one artificial eye that glows in the dark).

MATTHEW — MALE, 40-60 years old — Matthew is Emily’s father, and though he is a fascinating person while awake, in this film he is only ever seen fast asleep on the couch, snoring loudly and lost in his dreams, and unaware of the drama unfolding around him. Looking for a mature, unique face, years of history, deep lines. A large, solid, heavyset man, a father to depend on.

CREW POSITIONS NEEDED:

Production Designer — science fiction experience a plus
Wardrobe/Make up

LOCATIONS NEEDED:

Creepy Basement — large cement area, pipes and ducts a plus
Retro Apartment — living room with couch and TV
Apartment Hallway — drab and non-distinct, slightly industrial
