Girl 2 – Co-Star / FEMALE / 19 TO 25
Best friend of girl 1, they’ve known each other since middle school. Beautiful, outgoing, sarcastic. She knows her friend is going through a tough time so she is there to give her advice or a shoulder. Voice of reason.

Friend At Party – Cameo / MALE OR FEMALE / 19 TO 25
Drags girl 1 out to a party to cheer her up. Social, life of the party, knows everyone there, fun and full of life, visibly tipsy but hilarious.

Whenever the girl gets home she sees that her dad is mad at her because she wasn’t at home at the time she was supposed to be. The dad starts to abuse her (not sexually). She runs away from home to the closest park and cries. It is late at night when her dad starts to look for her. Some bad guys are in the park and see her lonely and weak, so they kidnapped her. The guys abuse her again (now sexually) and the bad guys put drugs in her. She gets extremely sick and starts screaming for help. The bad dudes can’t control her and they start to beat her up. One of the bad guys kick her in the head and she goes unconscious. They think she’s dead and run away. A couple hours later her dad finds her and starts to cry. Her dad starts to talk to her about how bad he feels for what he did. He tells her that she is her most valuable treasure and that he never wanted something bad for her. He also tells her that he loves her as much as she can imagine. The last words he says are “forgive me, forgive me because I’m the one that got you into all the things I never wanted for you”. At that moment the girl wakes up and says, “It’s okay dad, I love you too”. PROJECT TITLE: Generate Hope
CLASSIFICATION: Independent
STATUS: Non-Union
CATEGORY: Short Film
FORMAT: DV
DISTRIBUTION: Festival circuit
PRODUCER: Jonathan Wetmore
SHOOTING LOCATION: San Diego, CA

This is a casting call for those interested in working on a film to generate awareness of a very serious issue. Generate Hope is a non-profit organization that provides a future for victims of sex trafficking. You can find out more about Generate Hope at their website: http://generatehope.org/

We are creating a short video (5 to 10 min) to help make the public aware of how big of a problem this is in our country and to show what Generate Hope is doing to help.

We need people to portray the voices of the women and girls trapped in sex trafficking. The format of the video will be similar to this screen test: https://vimeo.com/97480585

In keeping with the theme of anonymity of the victims, the characters will be presented as silhouettes with voices. So the key for all performers is the voice characterization.

CASTING THESE ROLES:

To show the wide extent of this issue, we need performers to portray women/ girls of a very diverse variety.

• All ethnicities
• (Almost) all ages — approx. 13 and up
• All walks of life
• Portraying everything from “angry at the world” to “broken down and lost”

COMPENSATION: Non-paid

EMAIL SUBMISSIONS TO: sandiego250@hotmail.com
SUBMISSIONS TO INCLUDE: Resume, Snapshot okay

SPECIAL NOTES FOR AUDITION:

If interested, I will send you the script and you can record yourself (either audio or video) reciting some of the lines.

OTHER NOTES:

This is for a non-profit organization so all those involved (myself included) are doing it on a volunteer basis. But it should be a fun experience and will be something to add to a resume. And a copy of the finished product can be provided. Parts can be filmed in an hour or so, so time commitment is minimal. Filming should begin in a couple weeks.

Thanks to everyone who wants to be involved.
