[AVERY] [GENDER:MALE] [AGE: 55-65]
Avery is a thinker, more comfortable contemplating the geology of his surroundings than he is communicating his own emotional landscape. After his daughter urges them both to acknowledge a ceremonial silence in memory of his deceased wife something shifts, as his journey becomes evermore embodied in the material nature surrounding them.
[JULIA] [GENDER-FEMALE] [AGE:25-35]
Julia knows her father’s propensity for intellectual diversion and paternal detachment and she tries to ground their time together in an acknowledgement of the emotional qualities of their commemoration. Their journey across the estuary progresses as a metaphor for life as she contemplates what it means to see our parents through to the other side.
