PLOT SUMMARY: Dr. Patrick Ryan (31) is an organized, by the book, 5th year surgical resident who has his whole life perfectly planned out, until he gets thrown a curve ball. His popular, fun loving younger brother, Drew Ryan (28), is fatally injured in a car accident. Patrick struggles to cope with his grief and begins to fall apart both at home, at the hospital, and is on the verge of losing everything he has worked for his entire life. Seeing Patrick’s struggle from the other side; Drew’s ghost returns to help the young surgeon get his life back together. Drew decides to help Patrick the best way any brother knows how- by making fun of him. You can be dead, and still be a jerk.

Our Original DP, who is fantastic, and a friend, gets booked for large projects and unfortunately may have some potential date conflicts for when we have the hospital location. NOTES: We are asking that you submit a bid for the paid positions. That may sound unorthodox, but because we are working on a small-budget we want to ensure that we are able to pay all the key positions, what they are asking or offer them as close to it as possible. We also want to ensure that we take care of those un-paid positions with at least a small travel allotment. In addition, meals & snacks throughout the day provided. We are already on IMDB so you would also get full IMDB credit and a copy of the dvd for your reel. Let us know what your day rate would be without equipment and one if it would include any equipment you could bring to the project and what that equipment might be. Rather than rent equipment people aren’t use to, I would rather pay people extra to bring their equipment that they are most comfortable with so that we get the best product possible in the end.
Facts (if you’re into that sort of stuff)
This is a fun project written by five professional stand-up comedians and is already attracting a lot of attention. Our little short film got the attention of Dread Central, one of the largest horror movie web sites, and they interviewed Conrad & Christian. It’s a quick read and a really funny interview by the two. Here is a link to the interview article: http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/110742/interview-christian-saslo-josh-saideman-directors-annoying-dead-brother/
Here is a self-produced crowd funding campaign video by Christian & Conrad. It will give you a pretty good look at the kind of stuff you can expect from these two and give you some great info on what makes this movie unique:
So Here’s the Deal
We have a “micro”-budget. We will have Paid & Non-Paid Crew Position; but we want to make sure everyone gets taken care of. For the non-paid crew positions we will have a “Very Small” Allotment to Help Cover Travel & Expenses. Everyone will receive DVD copy for your personal reel, and full credit on IMDB. We will be filming for 6 days and plan on 12 hour shoot days. Locations include Atlanta, Stone Mountain, Peachtree City, and Possibly Buford. Yes there will be food, we want everyone well fed.
Of course we will be doing what all the other filmmakers do- IMDB; submitting to all the film festivals; blah blah blah. Here is what makes this project special and why you may also feel good about working on it, even if it’s for little to no money. It is a tribute to Christian’s Brother who passed away in 2009, several months after coming home from serving in Afghanistan. This film is not only hilarious but will also help those who have lost someone and has/ is going through the grief process. It will give them a moment of laughter and let them know they won’t have to go through it all alone.
