PLOT SUMMARY: The Garden Left Behind follows Tina as she navigates her transition, her relationships with her grandmother and her boyfriend, and living and working as an undocumented immigrant in New York City. Over the course of the film, Tina finds a supportive community in her friends from The Royal Washers, a fictional trans-advocacy group that meets in a local laundromat.
