PROJECT TITLE: Generate Hope
CATEGORY: Short Film
DISTRIBUTION: Festival circuit
PRODUCER: Jonathan Wetmore
SHOOTING LOCATION: San Diego, CA
This is a casting call for those interested in working on a film to generate awareness of a very serious issue. Generate Hope is a non-profit organization that provides a future for victims of sex trafficking. You can find out more about Generate Hope at their website: http://generatehope.org/
We are creating a short video (5 to 10 min) to help make the public aware of how big of a problem this is in our country and to show what Generate Hope is doing to help.
We need people to portray the voices of the women and girls trapped in sex trafficking. The format of the video will be similar to this screen test: https://vimeo.com/97480585
In keeping with the theme of anonymity of the victims, the characters will be presented as silhouettes with voices. So the key for all performers is the voice characterization.
CASTING THESE ROLES:
To show the wide extent of this issue, we need performers to portray women/ girls of a very diverse variety.
• All ethnicities
• (Almost) all ages — approx. 13 and up
• All walks of life
• Portraying everything from “angry at the world” to “broken down and lost”
OTHER COMPENSATION: Film credit, DVD copy
SUBMISSIONS DUE BY: October 4, 2014
EMAIL SUBMISSIONS TO: firstname.lastname@example.org
SUBMISSIONS TO INCLUDE: Resume, Snapshot okay
SPECIAL NOTES FOR AUDITION:
If interested, I will send you the script and you can record yourself (either audio or video) reciting some of the lines.
This is for a non-profit organization so all those involved (myself included) are doing it on a volunteer basis. But it should be a fun experience and will be something to add to a resume. And a copy of the finished product can be provided. Parts can be filmed in an hour or so, so time commitment is minimal. Filming should begin in a couple weeks.
Thanks to everyone who wants to be involved.
