SYNOPSIS:

The project is called Blood Red and it is envisioned as a straightforward giallo, like Dario Argento’s Deep Red or Tenebre. (An over-serious throwback to early 80s slasher movies with an unearned excess of stylistic flourishes and not a hint of the post-modern self-referential hipness of something like Scream). We will be shooting two self-contained scenes of a horror movie, an opening prologue and a flashback that reveals the origin of the movie’s antagonist.

These two scenes will be included with business plan and script to present to investors. Also, they will be submitted to festivals to publicize the film for future production and release. Additionally they will be included in the final cut of the film. There is nudity and violence.

CREW POSITIONS NEEDED:

1. Production assistant – a general overall production assistant, help with moving equipment, wrangling props, helping set up and breakdown location, wrangling actors, being available whenever crew needs assistance. Being available for Director, AD and Producer.

2. Camera assistant – to be available for the Director of Photography for whatever he may need. Should be able to run camera, pull focus, assist with dolly, jib arm, etc. We will be shooting RAW on Canon 5D Mark II using Magic Lantern Firmware and a VAF anti-aliasing filter and using CinemaRAW in post. We have a Juiced Slider (4, 6, 8 foot rails), platform dolly, and small jib.

3. Assistant Grip – to be able to move, set up lights and breakdown lights based on what Director of Photography and Grip need. We will be using some Lowell halogens (2 Totas, 2 Omnis, 3 Pros, a Rifa Box 44 and a Rifa Box 55), three softboxes with CFLs and three small but potent dimmable LED 160s.
